How to Use

Get results in 3 steps:

  1. Insert your test strip into the meter and it turns on automatically.
  2. Apply your blood sample to the easy to see yellow window. Only 1 small drop is needed.
  3. In less than 4 seconds, your test results will appear in the easy to read display.

How to use Nusa Medic Bed Pan

  1. Sprinkle baby powder on the edge of the bedpan to make it easier to slide under the person.
  2. If the person can sit up and lift up their hips slightly, or if there is an additional helper ask them to help them do so, as you slide the bedpan under the bottom.
  3. If the person is unable to lift their hips, help the person turn to the side.
  4. Gently press the bedpan against their buttocks and then help them turn back onto the bedpan.
  5. Ensure you hold the bedpan in position and help the person roll of the bedpan then carefully place the bed pan to a side.
  6. If the user is able to lift their own hips initially then when they are finished ask the person to raise their hips again and remove the bedpan.
  7. Remember if you can leave the person alone safely once you have initially placed the bedpan under, then leave the room to give them privacy.
  8. If the person needs assistance wiping, then help them do so.
  9. Then empty the bedpan into a toilet.
  10. Clean the bedpan as recommended on the packaging or in line with additional information given.

How to transfer to commode chair

  • Firstly, make sure your loved one’s feet aren’t crossed as he or she prepares to use the restroom.
  • Before standing, have the person lean forward. If necessary, assist him or her in standing. With both arms, the person can assist in pushing.
  • Next, assist the person in turning slowly and stepping back to sit on the commode.
  • When your loved one sits down, make sure they don’t lose their balance.

  • Ensure that the container is tucked beneath the seat.
  • Before using the container, fill it with a small amount of water. This makes cleaning the container later much easier.
  • Assist the person in getting out of bed and onto the toilet. If necessary, wear a gait belt.
  • Keep an eye on the person for safety reasons, or give them a bell to ring when they are finished or require assistance.

What to do after using a commode chair

  • If necessary, assist your loved one in wiping. Cleaning with wet wipes may be more effective than with toilet paper.
  • If you assist your loved one in wiping, change your gloves if they are soiled. Some people prefer to wipe with long-handled wipes on their own.
  • Assist your loved one in getting off the toilet. Slowly turn your loved one back to the bed or chair, and then sit.
  • Pour the contents of the commode bucket into the toilet.
  • Using a disinfectant diluted with water, rinse and wash the commode bucket or basin. Allow the commode to air dry.
